 Kapilvastu, Nov 6: As many as 261 families in Krishnanagar Municipality obtained land ownership certificates after a long wait. 
At a programme organized jointly by Krishnanagar Municipality and the Survey Office Taulihawa, Kapilvastu, land ownership certificates were distributed to landowners of ward No. 1, 7, and 9 in Krishnanagar Municipality–9. 
Local residents, who had been using the land for a long time but faced various problems due to lack of legal ownership proof, were happy to receive the certificates. 
Madhura Kurmini, 80, a local who received the certificate, said she was euphoric to get the document that establishes ownership to the land her family has been using. 
Chhedi Ahir, another local resident hailing from ward no. 9, shared he recently received the ownership certificate for land that his family has been using for five generations. 
Mayor of Krishnanagar Municipality, Rajat Pratap Shah, said providing land certificates to village block landowners was a priority of the municipality. 
He noted that they were successful in distributing ownership certificates for the land surveyed in 2070 BS and urged people to carefully check the details like the landowner's name, plot number, and area on the certificate. 
He also said one can contact the relevant office to get data corrected if any mistake found in the certificates.
