Shram Sanskriti Party Chair visits Humla, advocates for equal access of people from remote areas to public services
Humla, Oct 28: Chairperson of Shram Sanskriti Party and lawmaker Harka Sampang has asserted that citizens of remote areas should have equal access to public services and facilities.
He participated in the programmes organised at Adanchuli and Sarkegad rural municipalities in Humla.
On the occasion, Chair Sampang argued, "Basic service and facility including education, health and transport are city-centric due to unequal distribution of services and facilities distributed by the state. So, number of citizens living in rural areas is decreasing."
He opined that the people could live anywhere if necessary service and facility appropriate to time could be provided in all areas.
He also expressed commitment to end the compulsion of crossing river from tuin or rope bridge. It is said that this visit of Chairperson Sampang is in connection with construction of suspension bridge over Karnali River in Khadikhet of Sarkegad rural municipality-2.
Lawmaker Sampang had expressed commitment to construct suspension bridge after the issue about local's compulsion of crossing river from tuin keeping their lives at risk was published in media and social platforms.
A process has been determined to put forward the construction activities of a suspension bridge at the place through Kadoorie, a non-governmental organization.
The citizens of Humla district have been facing various problems in lack of road, bridge and other basic service and facility.
