Damauli (Tanahu), Oct 12: A woman has died and six others were injured in a road accident at Aabukhaireni rural municipality-6 in Tanahu district on Monday evening.  
The deceased has been identified as Indra Maya Gurung, 47, of Aabukhaireni rural municipality-6, according to the District Police Office. The accident took place when a jeep (Ga 2 Cha 3269) heading towards Hikekharka from Baradi fell some seven meters off the road, said Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Dwarika Prasad Ghimire.
The injured ones have been receiving treatment at Aabukhaireni Hospital. Police have arrested the jeep driver Laxman Gurung, 33, of Hilekharka and further investigation into the incident was underway.
Meanwhile, a child Rajan Adhikari of Naubihani rural municipality-1 died when a tipper (Ra 1 Kha 2511) hit him at Keurepani along Ghorahi-Lamahi road section this evening, shared Chief of the District Police Office, Dang, Superintendent of Police, Dipak Shrestha.
Critically injured Adhikari died in course of treatment at Ghorahi-based Rapti Academy of Health Sciences. After the incident, locals have been protesting demanding action against guilty and justice to the victim. 
Police have arrested the tipper driver and started investigation into the incident.
