Kathmandu, Oct 27: Police have arrested four Indian nationals for stealing cash, gold, silver jewelry, and other valuables from houses and flats in various parts of Kathmandu. 
The team from Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office caught them along with the theft items, accusing them of breaking several houses in Kalanki area. 
The arrested include 25-year-old Vikas Podar from Khesaraha, Samastipur, Bihar, currently living in Kalimati, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-13; 19-year-old Rajukumar, also known as Raju Podar; 23-year-old Rajendra Podar, also known as Rajendra Kumar; and 46-year-old Vina Devi. 
According to DSP Rameshwar Karki from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, the investigation revealed that they broke lock of the flat of Urmila Thapaliya (Sita), living on Tasingdol Road in Kalanki, Kathmandu, and stole cash, gold, silver jewelry, and other valuables while no one was at home on October 24. 
"We have arrested four Indian nationals on charges of breaking the door lock and stealing cash and gold and silver jewelry when no one was at houses and flats, " DSP Karki informed. 
According to the police, the arrested individuals were also found to have stolen from Neeranjan Nepal's house in Ranjit Colony, Kalanki, on the morning of October 23. 
After thefts occurred in different houses for two consecutive days, the police started the search and investigation of the people involved. 
During the investigation, they were arrested on charges of being involved in the thefts, police superintendent Karki stated. 
The police also reported that the recovered items from the arrested included the stolen gold and silver jewelry along with cash. 
The Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office stated that all four arrested individuals were sent to Kalimati police station with the recovered items for further investigation and necessary legal action.
