Kathmandu, Aug 14: The Federalism Enablement and National Concerns Committee under the National Assembly has stressed the need for implementation of the reports and recommendations of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). 
In the Friday's meeting of the Committee, the Committee members drew the government's attention to issues concerning the citizens, stressing the need for implementing the NHRC recommendations. 
NHRC chair Top Bahadur Magar said the Commission continues to uphold the civic trust. According to him, along with human rights violations, NHRC receives complaints about delays in the adjudication, non-receipt of complaints and the absence of investigation.
He added that it is not possible to address all problems by the NHRC alone, stating that collaboration and coordination with the concerned state bodies is necessary to promote the status of human rights.
NHRC secretary Murari Prasad Kharel informed the meeting that the incidents of natural disasters, economic, social and cultural rights violations were growing. As he said, NHRC's attention was drawn to the lack of a complete guarantee of citizens' rights, including in Karnali. 
Nepali migrant workers falling victim to fraud while seeking foreign employment, not receiving jobs or working conditions as per their contracts, and being exposed to various risks are among the complaints frequently received by NHRC. 
Committee members Uday Bahadur Bohara, Dharmendra Paswan, Sonam Geljen Sherpa, Krishnaprasad Adhikari, Roshni Meche, Bishnu Kumari Sapkota, Narayan Dutta Mishra and others stressed the need for timely monitoring to determine whether NHRC recommendations have been properly implemented.
