Kathmandu, Aug. 15: The Founding Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University (KU), Prof Dr Sureshraj Sharma, was felicitated here today.
Prof Dr Sharma was honoured by former Chairperson of the Council of Ministers and former Chief Justice Khilaraj Regmi amidst a programme organized by the NIST Foundation.
Prof Dr Sharma was feted in recognition to his remarkable contributions to the academic sector and his role in uplifting the education sector through KU, which was established in 1991.
He served as the Vice Chancellor of the university for nearly two decades.
During the felicitation programme, Regmi described Prof Dr Sharma as a person with great integrity and an inspirational figure in Nepal's academic sector.
Regmi said, "Humility remains a special quality of Dr Sharma. He is a scholar and an exemplary educationist."
Regmi went on to praise Sharma saying, "In particular, he made a distinguished contribution to the establishment of the world-class Kathmandu University and the development and promotion of quality education. This has emerged as a distinct identity of his educational life."
