Kathmandu, Aug 18: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Khadak Raj Paudel, has asserted that the government has been moving ahead with a determination to remove Nepal from the European Union air safety list. 
Responding to queries raised by lawmakers in today's meeting of the House of Representatives, Minister Paudel expressed the belief that Nepal would be removed from the list based on Nepal's commitment towards air safety, implementation of reforms action plan, regulatory capacity building, institutional reforms and continuous dialogue with the EU.  
He mentioned that the matter of removing Nepal from EU's air safety list is on high priority of the government, adding regulatory capacity building, institutional reforms and diplomatic initiatives would be forwarded.
Different programmes are being launched in collaboration with international partners for technical capacity building related to air safety and regulations, Minister Paudel underlined. "A necessary bill has already been formulated to establish Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal as a separate institutional structure by specializing it as regulatory body and distinguishing from a service provider body."
The Tourism Minister clarified that he held personal meeting with EU ambassador to Nepal and talked about progress achieved by Nepal in air safety reforms, implementation of corrective action plan and further strategy. 
High-level diplomatic talk with EU and member countries to remove Nepal from the air safety list continues, he said.
