14 disaster-prone households shifted to safe areas
Bajura, Aug. 21: A total of 115 individuals of 14 disaster-prone households in Bajura district were shifted to safe areas as a landslide buried two houses at Katigaun in Gaumul Rural Municipality in the district.
The houses of Purnimal Bohara and Budi Bohara were destroyed in the Katigaun landslide occurred on Thursday afternoon following a heavy rain, according to Spokesperson of District Police Office Naresh Bahadur Shahi.
Shahi said that 115 individuals of 14 households from the nearby areas were shifted to a safe site after the increased risk of landslides there. They have been kept in temporary huts.
Likewise, Chairman of Gaumul Rural Municipality Hari Bahadur Rokaya said that a team has been mobilized from the rural municipality to ensure relief materials to the affected ones.
