Home Minister Gurung vows to meet public aspirations
Gandaki, Aug. 15: Home Minister Sudan Gurung has arrived in his hometown Gorkha to take stock of the situation of development activities, public service delivery and other issues.
The Chief District Officer of Gorkha, Tulsi Bahadur Shrestha, said the Home Minister visited some development projects and enquired about the district's security situation on Saturday. "The Home Minister has no any formal programme. He arrived here as a part of the visit to his election constituency. The Home Minister is meeting with people and holding direct talks," CDO Shrestha added.
During his visit on Saturday, the residents of Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality raised the issue of squatters' management, inundation and others.
On the occasion, matters of road infrastructure, drinking water supply, electricity, security situation, shortage of chemical fertilizer, disaster management and public service delivery were discussed.
In response to public concerns, Minister Gurung said the government was committed to addressing the issues through concerned bodies by identifying the problems.
Home Minister Gurung has also pledged to take initiatives to resolve the local people's concerns.
