Kathmandu, Aug 26: Rapid Action Teams have continued facilitating search and rescue efforts in the areas affected by the devastating flood that occurred this morning in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa. 
The teams have intensified its efforts to strengthen the emergency response and provide assistance to those affected by the disaster. 
The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) separately formed the high-level action teams immediately after receiving information about the flood. Search and rescue efforts have been underway since the morning. 
 The teams engaged in direct dialogues with local citizens and the people's representatives to assess the situation and coordinate the response efforts.
  The search and rescue efforts were carried out in an integrated way, with the facilitation of local-level and province-level employees, people's representatives, central-level government officials, and people's representatives.  
Communication channels were also utilised to assess the situation on the ground and obtain real-time information from the affected areas. The search and rescue operations were planned and implemented based on these assessments. 
In addition, hospitals in the affected districts, as well as the Bir Hospital, National Trauma Center, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, and blood transfusion centers in Kathmandu have been placed on high alert keeping in mind the potential emergencies.
Meanwhile, a team comprising Home Minister Sudhan Gurung, Home Secretary, and heads of security agencies at the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) received real-time updates from the affected sites through video technology. This was followed by mobilization of health workers and security teams to undertake the rescue operations more effectively.
