Kathmandu, Aug 25: Nepal is competing in the third edition of Pickleball World Cup for the first time.  The Nepali team is set to depart for Da Nang of Vietnam on Thursday. The World Cup is taking place from August 30-to September 6. 
As informed, Nepali players, including Harsha Sagar Tuladhar, Manik Ratna Shakya, Dil Bhushan Pathak, Phatte Bahadur Khadka, Sharmil KC and Pratima Pradhan are competing on senior category of the championship. 
Similarly, Jackson Subedi, Sandesh Shrestha, Umid Sherpa, Ugen Sherpa, Dawa Sherpa, Radhe Shyam Machamasi, Mahesh Sharma, Sarusa Magar, Dr Dikshya Rana, Sanjil Kansakar and Kiran Khanal would compete under open category. 
Shaurav Bhandari has been designated the team manager and coach of Nepal for the championship. 
Wishing for the success, Member-Secretary of the National Sports Council, Ram Charitra Mehata bade farewell to the team amidst a programme organised here on Tuesday. 
Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong. Played on a badminton sized court with a modified tennis net, it uses paddles and a lightweight plastic ball and can be played as singles or doubles.
